{"id":442,"date":"2014-11-12T12:00:56","date_gmt":"2014-11-12T12:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/uafuml.org\/?p=442"},"modified":"2014-11-12T02:24:04","modified_gmt":"2014-11-12T02:24:04","slug":"participation-in-faculty-meetings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uafuml.org\/?p=442","title":{"rendered":"Participation in Faculty Meetings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\">\n\t<strong>Did You Know?<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n\t<strong>Participation in Faculty Meetings<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Article 11.1 of our contract stipulates that in each Department, Adjunct Faculty may send one or two Adjunct Faculty members to Department meetings.&nbsp; We bargained for this right because, often, adjunct faculty members don&rsquo;t know what&rsquo;s going on in their own departments, and don&rsquo;t know about changes or policies that may affect them.&nbsp; Our representatives at the meeting can keep other adjunct faculty informed.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>If you would like to be the representative for your department, and attend meetings, please let us know.<\/strong>&nbsp; Some departments are already covered, but many are not.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn some departments, adjunct faculty are welcomed at meetings, and in some, this has become an issue of contention.&nbsp; If you&rsquo;re interested in representing your department, please contact anyone in the union leadership team, and we&rsquo;ll explain the process to you.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tInformation is power!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Did You Know?
